Halloween fun!
Had fun with my roommate and her friend decorating and carving pumpkins! Can you guess which one is mine?

It was a fun way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. Also, there was beer - pumpkin beer to be exact. I love a good theme.

Sunday cuddling with her ball at Google
Sunday has started this weird thing where she constantly cuddles with her ball. She cries when I put it away and has to have it with her at all times. I brought it with us to work today and she looked in her bag for it and grabbed it out.

Day off morning time with Sunday

Started off Labor day with Miss Sunday. We went to the park, had breakfast, and came back for lazing time. She still drags her blanket all over the house and brought it into the living room to snuggle with.

Nightmare: hidden right before your eyes
This is my own personal nightmare. I used to be afraid that people were doing this everywhere when I was little. So, so, so terrifying....

Fed and cleaned baby possums this morning!
Courtney and I woke up, had croissants and coffee at Boîte, and then went to volunteer at the Wildlife rescue. It was amazing to see hundreds of baby possums in cages! But, oh, there was work to be done! We had to clean out the cages, give fresh food and water, and make sure that the possums hadn't eaten each other. Did you know that possums are cannibals? Well I didn't. I held my breath as I unfurled each hammock (shown below). Luckily, we only ran into one that had it tail chewed a little on by its brothers and sisters - silly little savages!

Courtney kept leaving the cages open and after we were done we found a little guy who had escaped! He was put back in his cage. There were birds, bunnies and baby raccoons! All needed a little time and help before they are rehabilitated to go back in the wild! We are going back next week! Let me know if anyone want to join!

Boîte: makers of wonderful croissants in Austin!
I went to Boîte for the very first time this morning and it was awesome. I ordered a croissant and a latte. Both were wonderful but the croissant was the superstar. It was crunchy on the outside and wonderfully soft and light in the middle. The buttery center was not dense at all - unlike most American croissants. The other cool part about Boîte (French for box) is that it is inside of a finished shipping container. It sits on a hill and has a nice seating area in front. All in all delish, I definitely will be going back!

Robots vs Dinos: a baby shower cakeball extravaganza!
Libby and I channeled Bakerella in our latest cakeball endeavor. It was Steve's baby shower and we wanted to do something BIG! AWESOME! EXCITING!
The baby's room is dino themed and so we thought it only natural to carry that theme into the shower. Also, I like dinosaurs! The robots were chosen because they are awesome and generally necessary! The robot was a design from Bakerella's Cakepop book, but the Dinosaurs were all Libby's idea! This time Libby was super insipired and came up with the idea to stage the cake balls. We built a road out of foam board wrapped in black paper. Libby (of course) had black paper and yellow tape = Instant road! She then wrapped it in cellophane to make it more food safe. Libby had also thought ahead and bought fun little dinosaur & robot toys from places around town to further create the mood for the cakeball staging. Libby made a city backdrop to continue the theme and set the mood perfectly.
All in all, it was a great success and everyone had a great time. BONUS: the cakeballs were amazing and delicious!
